A small price to pay for peace-of-mind.
Many schools keep bikes and scooters in a bike shed, accessible to anyone at all hours of the day.
This has resulted in many stolen scooters.
Unlike a bike frame, scooters don't have an obvious place to loop a chain through to secure them - the only 'void' in most scooters is in the wheels, which can be removed with generic allen keys.
AO have developed the U-lock to slide over the deck of the scooter, held secure by the neck on one end and the wheel-and-brake on the other end.
You'd lock up your $300 bike - why not lock up your scooter?
