I attempted skating when very young but never really got into it, it was only when in 2008 I went with my mum to a skate lesson taught by Bayside Blades that I really gained the confidence to really start enjoying skating. I spent a lot of my early time skating with my brothers around the streets until I got to the point I would cruise along the beach front paths most days after school.

I had always wanted to start aggressive skating but being a bit timid it really took until I became friends with Liv and Billy through Melbourne Freeride who later became colleagues when I joined Bayside to really get over my fears and start enjoying aggressive skating. I love the challenge of learning new things and constantly working to overcome my own fears, every time you land a new trick or something I didn’t think I could do I am overwhelmed with excitement it’s a feeling that's hard to describe.

Skating has brought me so much joy in my life and helped me meet so many new people, some who have become good friends. I have never taken skating very seriously. It's one of the few sports I felt I could enjoy without the need to feel competitive. I would recommend skating to anyone who's interested.
