THE HISTORY OF BONT CUSTOM SPEED BOOT

Mr. Inze Bont first started making custom boots in the backyard of his Sydney house in 1974 after struggling to find a boot that would fit his wide feet. Mr. Bont pioneered the field of custom boot making and has remained the #1 custom boot builder in the world ever since.

Each week, Bont custom makes up to 200 pairs of boots. The boots today are still made using the same basic principles that Inze Bont invented in 1974.

How do I order a custom Bont Boot

First you need to have a cast made of your feet, these are then sent to the Bont factory, professionally prepared by Mr Inze Bont, so they can be used as the last to produce your speed boots.

Bont will accept any form of making moulds to make your boots, but remember that your boots can only be as good as the mold you provide. We can send a laser scanning, a plaster casts, a Bont Molding Sox™ or plaster bandage mold of your feet. To find out more about laser scanning, click here. 1/ If you are able to make it to our shop in Melbourne, we can produce a plaster cast of your feet using our Alginate casting boxes, this is a very accurate method of preparing your casts.

2/ You can have your feet laser scanned and the file e-mailed to Bont to produce your lasts. This is also very accurate, please ring the shop for information on availability in your area.

3/ You can use Bont Molding Sox to produce your own casts following the comprehensive instructions supplied with the socks. These can be ordered from Bayside Blades online or by contacting the shop.

4/ You can have your coach, friend or fellow skater with casting experience assist you to produce a plaster cast or a plaster bandage mold of your feet.

When you have a mold of your feet you are happy with, simply send then to us with a completed custom order form and a deposit of at least 50% of total price of your skate and we will look after the rest.

Which Bont Models can I order custom ?

Only the Vaypor or Apache in 2 or 3 mount or Semi Race are available in the custom option, you can have a boot only made or you can order any of the Bont packages, using one of these boots, we have listed on our site.

You may also choose to upgrade your package, swapping to Swiss or Ceramic bearings or upgrading to your preferred wheels. Simply let us know your preference and we'll advise what difference there will be in the package price.

How long will it take to make my boots

It usually takes Bont 6 - 8 weeks to make your boots. That is 6 - 8 weeks from the time they receive a suitable mold and all the boot specifications. Please allow time for the molds to be shipped to China and time for the completed boots to shipped back to us in Australia.

How do I place an order for a Bont Custom Boot.

To place an order, just us a call at the shop or send us an email with what you want. Please give us as much information as possible, this will save us asking you more questions.

-Which colour do you want (if choosing Vaypor or Semi Race boots)

We will email you a quote for the skate package or boot you have chosen.

What will my Custom Boot cost

Simply add AU$290.00 to the price of the Bont boot or Bont Skate package you have chosen to work out the price of your custom. This price will cover the Boot or Skate package you choose, all costs to prepare the molds and make your boots, plus all the freight costs to send your casts to China and all costs to ship the finished boots/skate package back to you.

This does not cover the cost, if any, of producing the plaster molds of your feet.
